Over a dining table or island, hang the pendant so the bottom sits about 75-90cm above the surface, which lights the space without blocking sightlines. In open walkways, keep at least 210cm of clearance from the floor so people can pass underneath comfortably.

Most pendants have an adjustable cord or rod that can be shortened during installation, and the listing notes the maximum drop length. This lets you tailor the height to your ceiling and the surface below.

Each pendant specifies its bulb type and wattage, and many use standard E26/E27 bulbs. A warm-white LED is a popular choice for a cozy glow over dining and living areas.

As a rule of thumb, space pendants evenly with about 60-75cm between them, using two over a medium island and three over a longer one. Centering them over the work surface keeps the look balanced.
